Movanu Shafeeq is a writer/director and producer currently based in the Maldives. Co-founder and creative lead of Shepherd Studios, his style is characterised by his free flowing movements and sun soaked nostalgia, with a contemporary focus on his experiences of growing up in Male', his home town.
A graduate of Bournemouth Film School, he produced his graduation film The Landing Platform(2021), and shortly followed with his directorial debut short film, Falhu(2022).
He was also the head of visual communication for local lifestyle brand Viyeni Raajje, having created a unique brand image from the ground up, and consequently making waves in the local fashion space with their highly anticipated short form videos and photoshoots.
Movanu is currently working on his debut feature, as well as other projects for clients such as Ooredoo Maldives, Parley Maldives, Medianet, MWSC, Broke N Busy, Pran Sauce, and many more.
